If a story is a stone that falls into water, I chose to portray the delicate nature of ripple and its aftermath. I'm really fascinated with independent films; they're usually dramas that take the perspective of a group of minority to depict historical events and society at large. I love the unvarnished visual aesthetics of American indie films like A Woman Under the Influence, Wanda, and Stranger Than Paradise. Apart from that, my early understanding of cinema and the relationship between cinematography and film is also based on the early works of Asian directors such as Yimou Zhang and Karwai Wong. Now I'm greatly influenced by European artistic directors like the Dardenne brothers, Vittorio Storaro, Andrei Tarkovsky, and Alain Renai. After watching their films, I started to enjoy designing long shots as they gave the characters a unique space to wander and reflect on themselves.The early films from Asian filmmakers like Yimou Zhang and Karwai Wong also lays a foundation to my early stage on understanding cinema and the relationship between the cinematography and film.
陈逸然本科毕业于985四川大学新闻系，研究生毕业于美国影视制作专业排名前五的Loyola Marymount University摄影专业,师从好莱坞传奇女摄影师Amy Vincent (美国摄影师协会ASC摄影师，圣丹斯电影节最佳摄影得主），在读期间获得电影电视学院Ian Connor最佳摄影奖。
电影作品《杀死那只鸡》2014年入围被誉为“中国圣丹斯”的FIRST青年国际电影节惊喜影展磁场单元和具有奥斯卡认证资质的St. Louis International Film Festival的LGBTQ单元 QFest；电影作品《Ornamental Oriental》获得Cooke Optics的赞助，入围Houston Asian American Pacific Islander Film Festival；纪录片作品《Prison Is Cool》入选Belgrade International Film Festival, Landshut International Short Film Festival，Myrtle Beach International Film Festival，Doc. London Documentary Film Festival和New York Super Shorts Film Festival等多个国际知名电影节；电影作品《Art of Wiping》入选Seattle Film Festival，Belgrade International Film Festival，Vesuvius International Film Awards，San Fransisco Arthouse Festival等多个奖项；短片作品《Ash》获得Imaginary Mind Film Contest, Redwood Film Festival, Filmshort Creative Award，Cine Fern, The Film Contest等多项最佳摄影奖。短片处女作《Before 9AM》获得Hollywood Gold Awards, Milan Gold Awards, Prague Film Festival, Florence Film Awards, New York Movie Awards等十余项电影节奖项认证。参与摄影作品入围有奥斯卡认证资质的LA Shorts International Film Festival, Santa Barbara International Film Festival以及Dances With Films Festival等多个国际电影节。
在成为摄影师之前，陈逸然曾在光线影业等中国知名影视制作公司工作，合作对象包括：张艺谋、赵小丁、张末、宋灏霖。个人摄影工作室合作品牌公司包括：Beatbot、领克汽车、平安地产、椰岛游戏。作品曾多次获得Cooke Optic, Panavision, Tiffen, LiteGear, Sony等品牌赞助。
目前，陈逸然为ReelShorts, DramaBox, LoveShots, DramaWave, PlayLet等多短剧平台合作摄影师, 也为独立电影网站平台Chinese In Entertainment, Montageplay工作， 拍摄对象包括黄西、方芳等知名艺人。
